Can you believe it's been two years since I wrote the last post for this blog? Times flies.... and I have been very slack. I'm going to remedy that!
Inspiring children and teens to read is still very important to me and I'm going to do what I can to achieve that goal by introducing you to some fantastic books you may not be familiar with. Books that can grab the imagination of a young reader and transform him/her into a true blue avid reader.
If you know a young person who loves Teen/YA paranormal fiction stories, I know the perfect series to fill that bill...
The McLean Twins series for teen readers by Jennifer Loiske.....
Black Diamond (Book 1)
After her mom’s sudden death, twelve-year-old Shannon McLean has to move from the US to the English countryside to live with her mysterious father, Connor McLean, whom she hasn’t seen since she was a baby.
Weird things start to happen and the whole place scares the crap out of Shannon. Her dad can control her just by looking at her. The walls are full of secret passages and apparently she has the talent to awaken the ghosts in them. Every day is worse than the day before and she wants badly to run away but discovers it’s impossible. If she wants to stay alive she has to do exactly as her dad says or else she will not only jeopardize her own life but also the lives of the people around her.
Demon’s Touch (Book 2)
Shannon McLean had come a long way since she lost her mother. A while ago she’d thought she was alone in the world, a plain Jane with no place to go. Now she knew better. Suddenly she was surrounded by relatives: a crazy talented twin brother, Ian, who literally held the keys to magic in his hands; a demonic father, Connor, who had paid a high price for a one-way ticket to hell; and a wannabe big brother, Simon, who was not only half demon but also a hit man of some sort; and herself … so not a plain Jane but a witch with ancient spells tingling on her fingertips.
No matter what she did, or who tried to help her, she kept failing time and time again, and time was not something she had. If she ever intended to save her father from becoming the next king of hell, she had to act fast. She had to find a way to do the impossible and save a demon. After all, every witch knows the hard truth: demons cannot be saved.
Black Coven (Book 3) Recently published in December 2015
Every child knows that demons cannot be saved…
… but Shannon and Ian had to try. Failing … well, that wasn’t an option. Facing an enemy worse than they have ever seen, they make alliances with somewhat questionable people, compromising the lives of those most dear to them. Dancing on a very thin tightrope, they try to stay in the light, but the lure of darkness can make even the strongest souls sway, and sidestepping at a time like this … that can be crucial. Besides, such dangerous magic always comes with a price and some prices are too high to pay. Especially when your father’s life is at stake.
Can Shannon and Ian rescue Connor in time or are they doomed from the beginning? Can two children beat the beast from the underworld or does it drag them with it into the depths of hell?
